East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar and his staff inspected the water channel construction work on Jalan Raya Gongseng, Kalisari and Cijantung urban villages, Pasar Rebo Sub-district, Tuesday (5/21).

According to him, the inspection was to see the progress of the water channel construction in the RW 10 area of Cijantung Urban Village, which is connected to the RW 06 area of Kalisari Urban Village.
He stated the water channel at that location was being widened, thus it would not overflow into residential areas during heavy rain. It was because the existing conditions were very small, around 40 centimeters, and when the water discharge was high, it overflowed onto the roads and residential areas.

East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency's Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri explained the channel construction on Jalan Raya Gongseng was divided into five segments. Each was related but was conducted by different contractors.
As for the segment of Pondok Saru Raya to Jalan Gongseng Raya on Jalan Kalisari III, RW 10, Kalisari Urban Village, the channel was built up to 519 meters using U-Ditch measuring 100x100x120 centimeters with 486 meters long and the culvert box measuring 80x80x100 centimeters along 33 meters.
"At the location, it has been carried out since March 28. The work progress has touched 37.47 percent," he explained.
Then on Jalan Gongseng Raya, the segment of Jalan Yayasan to Jalan Bima I, RW 07 and 11 Cijantung, the channel was built up to 101 meters. The material used was U-Ditch concrete measuring 120x120x120 centimeters for 57 meters, and U-Ditch measuring 150x150x150 centimeters for 44 meters.
"This work progress has touched 88.54 percent and is targeted for completion on May 26," he continued.
Then the channel on Jalan Gonseng Raya, Jalan Lapangan to Gong Connecting Channel along 86.50 meters using a box culvert measuring 150x150x150 centimeters along six meters and cast water channels measuring 225x100 centimeters with 80.50 meters long. Work progress is already 71.74 percent.
Then is the channel on Jalan Gongseng, the segment of Jalan Bima I to Jalan Lapangan, RW 007 and 001, Cijantung along 350 meters.
At the same location, the channel construction using a U-Ditch measuring 60x60x120 centimeters with a length of 155 meters, a box culvert measuring 100x100x100 centimeters with a length of 17 meters, a box culvert measuring 150x150x150 centimeters with 178 meters long.
"This is targeted for completion on June 25. The work progress has touched 53.54 percent," he stated.
